The New Orleans Chamber Orchestra Presents
Searching for Solace

New Orleans Chamber Orchestra in collaboration with Temple Sinai presents "Searching for Solace," an introspective program featuring the premiere of the orchestral version of Perhaps a Butterfly by Eliot Bailen, a setting of several poems by young Jewish victims of the Holocaust from Theresienstadt with mezzo soprano Rebecca Garfein, the Cantor of Temple Sinai, who commissioned the original song cycle in memory of her great-grandmother, as the featured soloist. Also on the program are two premieres by New Orleans composers—Sinfonia XVIII: Mourning II by Jerry Sieg and Final Curve by Malcolm Parson, and pieces by Glück, Elgar, Bartók, and Händel.
Admission is free with a suggested donation of $20
