Sunset Serenades
Our talented musicians will come together to perform in a socially distanced setting, and we invite you to join us for the first concert of the series on Sunday, October 25 at 7:30pm.
In keeping with New Orleans Chamber Orchestra's mission statement, each concert will feature local musicians and compositions by local composers. We will honor our city, our musical heritage, and those who have lost their lives during the pandemic. We hope that you will join us in welcoming back the arts into our lives and homes and supporting our musicians who are thrilled to perform for you once more!
The concerts will be streamed on A440, a new Internet platform dedicated to performances of classical music. To view the free concerts, head to our A440 page by following this link: New Orleans Chamber Orchestra Virtual Concerts. Simply sign in to participate in the chat and enjoy the shows on October 25 and November 7 at 7:30pm. You can also find other artists to follow when you're not watching our events!
The October 25 concert, "Sunset Serenade I", will feature violinist Hannah Yim performing Vivaldi's A Minor Violin Concerto and a premiere of Elegy by the orchestra's co-founder Maxim Samarov (who will conduct the performance), as well as the majestic Serenade for Strings by Tchaikovsky. The performance will take place at the outdoor terrace of the magnificent Omni Royal Hotel in the French Quarter.
These concerts are supported by grants from Edward Wisner Donation, administered by the City of New Orleans, New Orleans Arts Council, Jazz and Heritage Foundation, Lake Vista Women's Club and by contributions from donors like you.
